Fostering Ethical Culture at AUL: Code of Conduct and Awareness Initiatives

As part of its commitment to advancing a holistic ethical organisational culture, Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) held a workshop entitled "Fostering Ethical Culture at AUL," aimed at strengthening awareness of institutional values, ethical behavior, and integrity across the university community.
Organized by the Research Center on Environmental Sustainability under the Strategic Development and Planning Department, the workshop brought together academic and administrative staff to engage in meaningful discussions about AUL’s Code of Conduct and ethical expectations in professional and academic settings.
Participants explored key principles of ethical leadership, accountability, inclusivity, and transparency, while also examining international frameworks and standards for upholding integrity in higher education institutions. The session highlighted the importance of a clearly defined ethical framework, not only to guide individual behavior, but also to build a culture of respect, fairness, and trust within the institution.
The event also featured a presentation of AUL’s institutional Code of Conduct, followed by an interactive session where participants discussed real-life scenarios and best practices for resolving ethical dilemmas. Special attention was given to the role of ethical awareness initiatives in cultivating an inclusive, equitable, and supportive environment for students, faculty, and staff.
This initiative reflects AUL’s dedication to embedding ethical considerations into every level of its governance and academic life, aligning with global standards and its objectives within the QS Sustainability Ranking.
