The competition with the topic "Environmental protection issues in the policy of Heydar Aliyev" was held in Azerbaijan on May 24, 2024, at the Faculty of International Relations and Regional Studies of the Azerbaijan University of Languages. This was the next in a series of events related to the COP 29 of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The dean of the faculty, who met with the students participating in the competition, Prof. I. Kazymbeyli, brought to the students' attention that Heydar Aliyev was always concerned about the protection of the environment and that he paid special attention to the planting of greenery in the city of Baku. Later, I. Kazymbeyli discussed the significance of COP 29 of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in our country. Based on his assessment, this can be explained by Azerbaijan's increasing standing as a trustworthy partner and its increasing global recognition. He assessed this as the result of Azerbaijan's growing reputation in the world arena and gaining the image of a reliable partner in the international world.He also wished the students of I. Kazymbeyli luck and emphasized that both professors and students will be actively involved in the event that takes place in November.

The competition's questions were thoroughly prepared by Mahdi Amirov, Farid Hajizadeh, and Metin Fatizadeh, three Socially active students of the faculty. The results of the competition will be announced in the near future.
