Alexey Pushkov
Alexey Konstantinovich Pushkov - Russian state and public figure, candidate of historical sciences, political scientist, journalist, honoured cultural worker.
A.K.Pushkov was born on August 10, 1954 in Beijing. In 1976 he graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations with a degree in International Relations. In 1980, he received his PhD degree in history.
In 1991-1995 he was Deputy Editor-in-Chief of “Moscow News” Weekly in international affairs, editing the English, French, German and Spanish editions of the newspaper.
In 1993-2000 he was a member of the editorial board of the American “Foreign Policy” magazine, published by the Carnegie Endowment in Washington, D.C.; in 2008-2011 he served as Director of the Institute of Topical International Issues at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and in 2011-2016, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Relations.
A member and permanent expert of the World Economic Forum in Davos since 1993.
A.K.Pushkov - Professor at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Chairman of the Federation Council's Interim Commission on Information Policy and Mass Media Cooperation.
By the decision of the Academic Council of the Azerbaijan Language University on June 4, 2013, Pushkov was awarded the Honorary Doctorate of AUL for his contribution to strengthening cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia.
