The Department of Foreign Languages under the Faculty of Education-2 was created in 2017 as a result of the division of the previously existing II Department of Foreign Languages. One of them is the Department of Foreign Languages under the Faculty of Philology and Journalism; the other is the Department of Foreign Languages under the Faculty of Education. Head of the Department of Foreign Languages at the Faculty of Philology and Journalism, prof. Sh.H. Shabanov, head of the Department of Foreign Languages at the Faculty of Education from 2017 to March 2019, Assoc. Y.M. Murshudov was. But Assoc. Since Y.M. Murshudov died on 21.03.2019, his work was terminated according to order No. 1/235. As of May 24, 2019, according to order No. 1/218, associate professor S.S. Nuriyev was elected as the head of the department. Later, Assoc. In connection with the election of S.S. Nuriyev as the dean of the Faculty of Education-2, according to the order No. 1/9, from 30.12.2019, associate professor A.B. Sobor was appointed as the head of the department.
The mission of the Department of Foreign Languages at the Faculty of Education-2 is to train personnel for German, French, English and Russian as a second foreign language. The study of these subjects helps students in the future to be admitted to the master's degree, to pass the minimum exams as a doctoral student and dissertation, and to be able to use foreign literature. Nowadays, knowing a foreign language does not solve everything. Therefore, learning one of these languages as a second foreign language helps undergraduate students to set up their future jobs correctly. For this purpose, new programs, teaching aids and textbooks are prepared for each subject, which makes learning foreign languages much easier. Technical tools are also widely used for students to master these languages in depth.
The work of the Department of Foreign Languages under the Faculty of Education-2 was carried out based on the plan approved at the department meeting in the direction of teaching, teaching-methodical, scientific-research, organizational-methodical, and student training. The implementation of these works and other forms of work of the department are discussed at the department meeting attended by all members of the department. Employees of the department regularly participate actively in conferences and professional development trainings organized both within the republic and abroad, and at the same time, they publish their scientific methodical works in local and foreign journals. 3 scientific articles of the head of the department, Assoc. Aide Burzu gizi Sobor, were published in the imparkt factor magazine. Department employees are always in close contact with American studies, German studies, Russian studies and French language and culture centers operating at the University.
Since its establishment, the department has organized many events and the employees of the department actively participated in those events.
On 03.05.2018, a round table dedicated to the 95th anniversary of our Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the Department of Foreign Languages under the Faculty of Education.
On May 22, 2019, an event dedicated to "May 28 - Republic Day" was held under the Faculty of Education, jointly organized by the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguistics.
On 26.09.2019, for the first time in Azerbaijan, the head of the Department of Foreign Languages Assoc. European languages day was organized by S.S. Nuriyev.
On 20.12.2019, a holiday event called "December 31 Solidarity Day-New Year" was held under the organization of the Department of Foreign Languages at the Faculty of Education-
2. On 16.01.2020, a round table dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the January 20 tragedy was held under the faculty of Education-2 and the Department of Foreign Languages.
On 21.02.2020, a meeting of ASU students with the staff of the "Audiobook" project was held under the organization of the Department of Foreign Languages under the Faculty of Education-2.
On 10.05.2020, an online lesson dedicated to the 97th anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was held by the head teacher of the Department of Foreign Languages, Afat Hashimi, with the students of group 213 a, at the Faculty of Education-2.
On 12.12.2020, an online round table dedicated to the "Commemoration Day of the great leader Heydar Aliyev" was held under the joint organization of the Department of Foreign Languages at the Faculty of Education-2 of ASU and the Faculty of Education-2 where I work.
24.02.2021 - an online round table dedicated to the anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was held under the joint organization of the Education-1 and Education-2 faculties of ASU.
29.04.2021 - an online event called "Shusha intellectuals and France" was organized by Asghar Zeynalov, professor of the Department of Foreign Languages under the Department of Education-2, the head of the French language and culture center of ASU.
30.04.2021 - A scientific-practical event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the world-famous theorist Lutfi Zade was held under the co-organization of the Department of Foreign Languages and Psychology at the Faculty of Education-2.
26.05.2021 - an online event dedicated to "May 28 - Republic Day" of the Department of Foreign Languages was held at the Faculty of Education-2.
On 03.11.2021, the event dedicated to the Victory Day, "My Heart Goes From Karabakh", organized jointly by Asgar Zeynalov, professor of the Department of Foreign Languages at the Faculty of Education-2 and head of the Center for French Language and Culture, Francophonie, and the Department of Foreign Languages at the Faculty of Education-2 was held.
On 27.04.2022, the event called "European poetry night" was held under the joint organization of Asgar Zeynalov, professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and head of the French Language and Culture, Francophonie Center, and the Department of Foreign Languages, under the Faculty of Education-2, on 27.04.2022.
