
Alizade Hikmet Abdul oglu was born on September 1, 1956.
From 1973 to 1978 was a student at the Faculty of General Technical Sciences of the current Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University.
In 1978, having received a university diploma, he was hired as a teacher at boarding school No. 9 in Baku.
From November to April 1980 he was in military service in the city. Tbilisi.
After leaving the army he continued working as a teacher.
From December 1980 to December 1983, he was a doctoral student at the Department of Pedagogy of the current Azerbaijan University of Languages.
In January 1984 he entered the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology at Baku State University.
Since 1991, he worked as a teacher, associate professor, professor at the Department of Pedagogy at Baku State University.
From 2006 to 2021, he worked as dean of the faculty of social sciences and psychology, then continued to work as a professor at the department of pedagogy at Baku State University.
In October 2024, he was elected dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy at the Azerbaijan University of Languages.
In 1985, he defended his thesis on the topic “Correction of the negative influence of demographic factors on the formation of a responsible attitude of IV-VIII students in education” at the Gogebashvili Research Institute of Pedagogical Sciences in Tbilisi and received the degree of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences.
In 1989, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology.
In 1996, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Demographic problems of education” and received the academic degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences. In 2003, he was awarded the academic title of professor of the department of pedagogy.
Since 2000, he has worked as a member and co-chairman of the defense council for the specialty “Psychology” operating at Baku State University, as well as an expert and chairman of the expert council of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He is currently the Chairman of the Public Council of the Ministry of Education.
Since 1999, member of the New Azerbaijan Party.
He is the author of 22 books, more than 200 articles, programs, and teaching materials. Participated in international conferences in Turkey, Poland, the Czech Republic and Cyprus. Under his leadership, 15 applicants defended their dissertations and received the academic title of Doctor of Philosophy.
In 2009, he was awarded the Shokhryat medal in connection with the 90th anniversary of BSU, and in 2019 he was awarded the Order of Teryaggi in connection with the 100th anniversary of BSU.
