TURFLI Program at AUL
As part of the cooperation between Azerbaijan University of Languages with the University of
Wisconsin-Madison and the American Council on Education, US students selected within the
TURFLI program will enroll in Turkish and Azerbaijani language classes at Azerbaijan
University of Languages. The TURFLI program consists of a four-month immersion program in Baku with students’ time in Baku preceded by 8 weeks of intensive language training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Turkish and Azerbaijani languages will be taught 16 hours and 4 hours, respectively. At the same time, students visit the Carpet Museum, the Green Market (Yashil Bazar), Ateshgah, Shamakhi, Lankaran, Sheki and Goychay (Pomegranate Festival will take place in this region) within the framework of cultural program. According to the terms of the program, the students stay at host families whose members are fluent in Turkish language, as well improve their speaking skills through the meetings with language partners for 4 hours per week.
