Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) in cooperation with prestigious foreign universities successfully continues to implement international double degree programs in specialties in demand in the country.

To this end, the university develops curricula in the relevant specialties based on the experience of foreign higher education institutions, the implementation of international programs of double diplomas contributes to the integration of AUL into the pan-European space, increasing its competitiveness, internationalization of training programs.

Many years ago, AUL, for the first time in the education system of Azerbaijan, on its own initiative developed a double diploma project with the University of Essex, Great Britain, and since 2010 began cooperation with this university on the double diploma program (2+2). It should be noted that this is the first project of double diplomas at the bachelor's level in the education system of Azerbaijan.

According to the agreement reached, the first two years of the AUL curriculum in English language teaching, taking into account the requirements of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, are coordinated with the relevant curriculum of the University of Essex, and after successful completion of the second year, our students can continue their education in Essex, fulfilling certain conditions of admission.

Several AUL students have already received diplomas from both universities, graduating from the University of Essex with high results.

In the future, important steps will be taken to develop cooperation between the AUL and the University of Essex, and this partnership will create significant opportunities for both universities.

Recently, the Azerbaijan University of Languages has taken another important step towards international cooperation by developing and approving a program of double diplomas (1+1) at the master's level with the University of Portsmouth, one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in the UK.

As part of the new program, AUL master's degree students will study the first year at their home university, and the second year of study-  at the University of Portsmouth, and will receive diplomas from both universities.

This educational model, which is of great importance in terms of expanding international ties of AUL, offers students a number of advantages: access to modern research laboratories and resources of the University of Portsmouth, which will increase the scientific potential of students, allowing them to improve their knowledge of English and use it at the academic level.

Teaching students in two different academic environments enriches their knowledge and skills through different approaches. Graduates with two university degrees become more competitive in the international labor market, and their career opportunities are expanding. Partnership with the University of Portsmouth is of great importance for expanding international relations of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, its recognition on global academic platforms, improving the competitiveness and quality of education at the international level. This cooperation promises students broader academic and professional prospects, which is one of the successful steps towards the internationalization of the AUL educational system.
