The presentation on the "History and Cultural Heritage of the Lands of Western Azerbaijan" subject program was held at AUL

“History and Cultural Heritage of the Lands of Western Azerbaijan” subject program presentation,, prepared by the staff of the Caucasian Studies and History of Azerbaijan Department Khatira Hajiyeva, Namik Kerimov and Ramin Guliyev, was held on December 18 at the Azerbaijan Languages University.
At the beginning of the event, the national anthem was performed, followed by a video demonstration, dedicated to Western Azerbaijan.
AUL Rector, Academician Kamal Abdulla welcomed the participants of the event and highlighted the particular significance of the event.
It was noted that scientific tools, publications and programs, regarding Western Azerbaijan, are of great importance: "Today, Azerbaijan successfully continues a great historical mission. Returning to the West Azerbaijan, reuniting with our historical lands is an important mission for each of us. Educational manuals, scientific publications, subject programs on this matter are extremely urgent. I would also like to mention "The Onomastics of the Truth" book.
This book, which is the result of intensive research work, is one of the most obvious examples of Armenian vandalism and Armenian falsifications.
In order to erase the traces of Azerbaijanis, who have lived on their lands for centuries, on the territory of the current Republic of Armenia, about 1,600 toponyms, hydronyms, oronyms, belonging to us, were massively changed and falsified, and many settlements were purposefully razed to the ground. The subject program "History and Cultural Heritage of the Lands of Western Azerbaijan", prepared by the Department of Caucasian Studies and History of Azerbaijan of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, is another vivid example of the work done in relation to Western Azerbaijan".
Chairman of the West Azerbaijani community, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, Associate Professor Aziz Alekberli spoke about the great importance of the event. It was noted, that one of the national issues is going back to the Western Azerbaijan,, and return to the ancestral lands is the most important task of our compatriots: "Returning to Western Azerbaijan has a special historical significance for each of us.
Despite our people had for centuries make huge sacrifices to live on their historical land, to defend their rights, at different times they were subjected to cruel trials, the loss of the Motherland. At the end of the 20th and beginning of the 21st centuries, contrary to the neighborhood and human norms, Armenia, under the auspices of hostile forces, seized twenty percent of Azerbaijani lands and kept them under occupation for thirty years".
Then the reports were made by Deputy Jeyhun Mammadov, Head of the West Azerbaijan Department of the Institute of History after A.A. Bakikhanov under ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor Jabi Bakhramov, Head of the Department of Caucasian Studies and History of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Philosophy in History, Associate Professor Khatir Hajiyev, Associate Professor of the Department of Caucasian Studies and History of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Philosophy in History Namig Kerimov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Caucasian Studies and History of Azerbaijan Ramin Guliyev.
The event continued with discussions on future scientific cooperation and a number of coming events.
