Ziyad Samedzade and Rasim Musabekov moderated the international forum, held at AUL

The International Forum "Dialogue of Cultures in a Changing World", held by AUL Center for Russian Studies and Voronezh State University with the support of the Russian World Foundation and the Russian House in Baku, continued its work with breakout sessions. Sectional meetings were held on December 3 at the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL).

At the round table "Educational Cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan: Challenges and Prospects", moderated by the deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Academician Ziyad Samedzade, and Vice-Rector of Voronezh State University Yuri Bubnov, bilateral relations of cooperation in the field of education and future prospects of both countries were discussed.

Event speakers - Academician Ziyad Samedzade, Vice-Rector of Voronezh State University Yuri Bubnov, Head of the Russian House in Baku Irek Zinnurov, Director of the Institute of International Education of Voronezh State University (VSU), Alla Akulshina, Dean of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology of VSU Olga Boriskina, Vice-Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages Zhalya Garibova, Associate Professor of St. Petersburg State University Tatiana Romanova and others, talked about the current state of bilateral cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan in the field of education and science, about promising development opportunities.

It was noted that the expansion of existing cooperation between Azerbaijani and Russian universities in the field of science and education contributes to the strengthening of cultural ties. Close ties between the educational communities of Azerbaijan and Russia open up new opportunities in the field of education and science in general, and promise positive prospects for further cooperation.

 

On the same day, another event took place at AUL as a part of the forum - a round table, dedicated to topical issues of international relations. The moderators were the deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rasim Musabekov and the professor of Tomsk State University Larisa Deriglazova. Speaking at the event, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Director of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexey Anatolyevich Gromyko, Head of the Center for Russian Studies of AUL Diana Nikolaevna Huseynzade and others, noted that peace and cooperation should be ensured not only by common economic interests, but also by common values. Culture plays a key role in establishing these values. The participants emphasized that, despite the fact that international relations in the modern era are full of tension, intercultural dialogue creates unique opportunities for building an atmosphere of trust between peoples and  promoting peace in the world.
