On December 11, an event was held at the Azerbaijan University of Languages to commemorate the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

 First, flowers were laid on the bust of the Great Leader, then a minute of silence was honored his memory. The national anthem was sounded.

The event was attended by the executive authorities of Nasimi district and Nasimi district organization YAP, law enforcement officers, professors and students.

Rector of AUL, academician Kamal Abdulla, greeted the participants of the event and spoke about the importance of the meeting.

It was noted, that Heydar Aliyev, brilliant leader and great personality, who wrote his name in golden letters in the history of Azerbaijan, saved Azerbaijan from disintegration and disappearance as a state, returning to political power at the insistence of people: «Today, each of us with great love and respect, honors the blessed memory of the National Leader. Great Leader Heydar Aliyev did not allow Azerbaijan to split and be erased from the political map of the world as a state. The Azerbaijani people trusted him, believed in him, and today the worthy successor of the Great Leader, Victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev successfully continues this great path with his determination, courage and wisdom. Today we are the representatives of the victorious nation. We bow our head before the souls of our shehids, we wish our veterans a speedy recovery. As representatives of the victorious nation, each of us should work hard in and contribute to the development of Azerbaijan».

Head of Nasimi District Executive Power, member of YAP Political Council Asif Askerov talked about the great role of the Nation’s Savior Heydar Aliyev and his exceptional achievements in the establishment of our modern independent state. It was noted that Heydar Aliyev patronized Azerbaijani science and education, always paid attention and care to those working in this sphere.

Speaking about the difficulties, faced by Azerbaijan after the restoration of independence, the chaos and anarchy, taking place in the country, Askarov stressed that through crisis and difficult times, the only person, able to prevent the insidious plans that could lead our country to catastrophe, was the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, in whom people  had the fullest confidence.

 Then, the film "The Greatest Man" was shown, organized by the executive branch of the Nasimi district, supported by the municipality of the Nasimi district.

The event ended with the voicing of opinions of world political leaders about the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.
