Final event of the Republican Scientific Conference "Modern problems of translation studies", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, was held at the Azerbaijan University of Languages, jointly organized by Nakhchivan State University (NSU) and Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) on November 30.

Delivering an opening speech at the event, AUL Rector Academician Kamal Abdulla welcomed the participants of the conference and thanked each of them for participation in the conference. The rector talked about the importance of the conference, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and the problems, facing modern translation studies: "Today is the final part of the Republican Scientific Conference "Modern Problems of Translation Studies", held jointly with Nakhchivan State University. I hope, that this conference, which will be the beginning of great scientific researches, will be continued regularly on the basis of mutual cooperation. Holding such conferences on a regular basis will be useful not only for translators, but also for students, studying in other specialties, and practicing specialists. Our goal is to train theoretical and practical professional translators".

Mr. Elbrus Isaev, Rector of NSU, Associate Professor, expressed his gratitude to the AUL management and faculty for joint cooperation, and also spoke about various issues of current cooperation between the two universities. In continuation of the work done, Elbrus Isayev  highly appreciated the speakers' presentations on theoretical and practical problems of translation studies.

The conference was addressed by NSU employees - Head of the Department of English Language and Translation, Associate Professor Ilhama Mammadova on the theme "Translation as a means of integration in cultures", Head of the Department of English Language and Methodology, Senior Lecturer Turkan Ismailly on "About modality in English", Lecturer of the Department of English Language and Translation Elchin Mirzaev on "Main problems of terminological translation: medical, legal and technical aspects", AUL employees - Head of the Department of Translation of Germanic Languages, Associate Professor Fiala Abdullaeva on "Translation as a means of integration in cultures".

During the speeches they told about the work to be done in the direction of training professional translators-synchronists, as well as discussed the prospects of mutual cooperation.

Dean of the AUL Translation Faculty, Associate Professor Banovsha Mammadova, during the conference report said that the conference was held from November 28 to 30.

The dean summarized the work of the conference and provided information on the presentations given.
