Delegation of Azerbaijan scientists met with the Belgrade University administration

Within the framework of the implementation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev`s order to celebrate the 650th anniversary of the great writer and poet Imadeddin Nasim, series of the events have begun at the capital of Serbia. Azertac reports, that Azerbaijani scientists delegation, headed by the Rector of Azerbaijan University of Foreign Languages, Academician Kamal Abdullayev, held several meetings with Belgrade University (BU) Administration on June 17. The delegation was received by the University Rector, Professor Ivanka Popovich. During the meeting parties discussed the wide range of cooperation possibilities between the two Universities, including joint scientific research works development, involving both Serbian and Azerbaijani scientists, mutual visits of the academic and teaching staff members. The Head of the Azerbaijani delegation invited BU Rector to visit Azerbaijan. Then the guests visited Azerbaijani Language and Culture Centre, opened at BU at the initiative of Academician Kamal Abdullayev on April 2018. It should be noted that Serbian Language and Culture Centre was launched in Baku in AUL on May 2018, Opening Ceremony of which was attended by The President of Serbia, Honorable Doctor of the University Alexandr Vucic. On the same day Azerbaijani delegation members met with the Dean of Philological faculty, Professor Liliana Markovich. At the meeting the parties expressed their satisfaction with both Centres activities and noted the necessity of the further enhanced cooperation. Head of the World Literature Chair of Baku State University, Professor Jalil Nagiyev, Editor-in Chief of Azerbaijan State Publishing House“ Azerneshr”, Azerbaijan Writers` Union member, Honored journalist Alovsat Agalarov, Head of the Centre of Azerbaijani Language and Literature at BU, Associate Professor Lala Mejidova and the Director of the Azerbaijani Culture Centre In Serbia, Professor Zarifa Aliyeva participated in the meetings. On June 18 and 19 other events of the program will be held.
