On March 28, 2019, the Research Laboratory of the Azerbaijani Studies and the Department of Scientific Cooperation and Publications at Azerbaijan University of Languages held jointly a workshop on the Philosophy of Modern Science dedicated to the Day of Science.

Associate-professor Seyfəl Həsənov, advisor of the rector on science and education, spoke of the importance of the Day of Science. He said that taking into account the importance of science in the development of society, President Ilham Əliyev signed an instruction on the institution of the Day of Science in the Republic of Azerbaijan on April 9, 2018.  He noted that this date coincides with a remarkable day - the institution of the National Academy of Science of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He stressed that the celebration of the Day of Science in the World began since the mids of 80s. World Science Day for Peace and Progress is celebrated on November 10 everywhere in the world on the level of UNESCO. What is pleasant is that Azerbaijan has made its name be included in the list of advanced, progressive countries. We are all witnesses the efforts of the Azerbaijani President aimed at the development of science in Azerbaijan, improvement of social welfare of scholars, expansion of educational opportunities of BA and MA students in future, integration of the Azerbaijani education into the world education system. I congratulate all of you on behalf of the administration of the University and I call you not to grudge your efforts to bring science into the society, to the rapprochement of it to the society, to advance it to meet the demands of the society, I wish you successes in all of them. Director of the Institute of Linguistics of the National Academy of Science of the Republic of Azerbaijan named after Nəsimi, collaborator of the Research Laboratory of the Azerbaijani studies of the Azerbaijan University of Languages academician Möhsün Nağısoylu spoke about the issues facing the Azerbaijan linguistics, of the future plans of the İnstitute and the dictionaries compiled by them.

Director of Experimental Phonetics and Applied Linguistics of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, Professor Fəxrəddin Veysəlli spoke about the attitude to language sources, to the recognition of the Azerbaijani science in the world, prevention of plagiarism and the place of theoretical work in science.

Associate-professor of the Chair of Regional Studies Agil Shahmuradov spoke about the stages of development in science.

Speaking about the current situation of science and perspectives in this field, head of the Department of Researches and Publications, Professor Həbib Zərbəliyev spoke about the activity of the University in the sphere of researches.
