On March 1, 2019, academician Kamal Abdulla, rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages, received Dan Ianku, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Romania to Azerbaijan.

Welcoming the guest, the rector said he was glad that the previous issues, which had been agreed by them, had successfully been carried out. Speaking about the success of teaching of the Romanian language in Azerbaijan University of Languages, the rector noted that more than ten students learn that language. He expressed his satisfaction with the work of the Romanian teacher working at the University.He highly appreciated the activity of the Centre of the Romanian Language and Culture at Azerbaijan University of Languages and hoped that in the nearest  future the Centre of the Azerbaijani Language and Culture will be opened in Romania.

The ambassador said that he was glad to be in Azerbaijan University of Languages. He highly appreciated the support of the University and added that it was an important factor in strengthening the relations between the two countries. He said that positive results have been achieved in the development of mutual relations.

Then the mutual cooperation, the in-service training of teachers and students and the future perspectives were discussed.
