A sitting of the Organizing Committee of Azerbaijan University of Languages was held on the National Conference devoted to “Nəsimi and the Ideas of Renaissance”. The conference in the context of “Nəsimi and Azerbaijani Renaissance, Human Conception in Nəsimi, Nəsimi's Hurufism and World Literary-Philosophical Context” will be held in October.

Extensive discussions were held and suggestions were heard on the organization of the national conference. Academician Kamal Abdulla, rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages, said that during the conference the life and works of Nəsimi, the researches devoted to his unique literary heritage, comparative analysis of his poetry and the world heritage and other issues will be on the spotlight.

After the discussions it was decided that round tables and reports will be organized, translations of his poetry into world languages will be studied, one of the poems of the poet will be translated into English, Russian, German, French, Indonesian, Chinese, Spanish, Italian and other languages and published, a reading competition and other events will be organized within the framework of the conference.

We should point out that the 650th anniversary of Nəsimi will be marked in 2019. In order to mark the significant event on the national level, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an instruction (No 689, dated November 15, 2018) “On the celebration of the 650th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet Imadəddin Nəsimi” and charged the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan to develop and implement an action plan.
