A Hungarian language and culture center will be opened at AUL

Hungarian ambassador to Azerbaijan Viktor Sederkenyi has recently visited the Hungarian Language and Culture Center, which will be officially opened at the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL). Academician Kamal Abdulla, the rector of AUL, said the guests were glad to see him at the university. K.Abdulla said that the Hungarian language and culture center, which is being created in the university, has been reviewed. “The review was held and our students can use the room and the books here”. K.Abdulla said that the center will be the most popular and widely used center in the university. “I would like to create an Azerbaijani language and culture center in one of the Hungarian universities. Just as there is a corner of Hungary in our university we can present our country in one corner of Hungary and present correct information about our country to Hungarian counterparts”. He said the Hungarian teacher would also work in the center: “We’d do our best for students to learn about the Hungarian language, culture and history continuously in this university. Taking into account the high level of political and cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary, I and my colleagues will try to make a small Hungarian corner a decent component of a great policy”.   Expressing his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the creation of the center, the rector congratulated them and wished them success in the future. Ambassador V.Sederkenyi highly appreciated the initiative of the center: “I thank you for your efforts to create a Hungarian language and culture center”. He said that the creation of the center is aimed at providing students with Hungarian language and culture education and supporting teachers’ activities. Noting the establishment of the center will contribute to the development of relations between Hungary and Azerbaijan, the ambassador noted the center opened would possibly be one of the centers for development of mutual relations. The ambassador noted that number meetings with students, teachers, Hungarian scholars and other events are expected to be held the event. “We will also take steps to open other center in Hungary. We need to do this in Hungary to strengthen our cooperation. Our goal is to teach languages effectively”. The ambassador congratulated everyone and underlined the fact that the Center would support the necessary resources and books. After reviewing the center, Budapest University employee Anna Gacs spoke on “Nobel Prize-wining Hungarian writer Imre Kertes and his novels”. Later the film “Unfortunate” based on the semi-autobiographical novel of Imre Kertes was demonstrated.
