Kamal Abdulla met with the head of “British Council”
On November 13th, the rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, academician Kamal Abdulla met with the head of British Council Azerbaijan branch Samr Shah (Tian Shah).
Academician Kamal Abdulla expressed his happiness to see the guest at the university and gave information about university. He noted that many languages were taught at the educational institution. Academician Kamal Abdulla marked the existence of ties between AUL and UK universities and expressed hope for further strengthening of these ties. Informing the guest about the Club of “Ambassador Hour”, the rector invited the guest to give a lecture to students within the framework of this project.
Rector of the University of Languages spoke about the work done by Azerbaijan in the field of multiculturalism and the possibilities of joint cooperation in this direction. Speaking about the multicultural environment in Azerbaijan, the rector emphasized that the subject “Azerbaijan multiculturalism” is being taught in many countries.
Expressing his gratitude to AUL leadership for the warm reception, Samir Shah (Tian Shah) said he was amazed at the hospitality and friendly care of the people during the eight-week work in Baku. He expressed confidence that existing ties, useful cooperation, would reach a higher level.
Later, mutual cooperation, work to be done to improve students and teachers and future prospects were discussed.
At the end of the meeting, the guest was presented a version of the book “Literary and Artistic Resources of Azerbaijani Multiculturalism” translated into English.
After the meeting, Mr.Samr Shah (Tian Shah) was acquainted with the work done at the language and culture centers of AUL.
