Presentation of the book “President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the Azerbaijan Model of Multiculturalaism” was held in Nakhchivan City Executive Power. The event was opened by the director of the State Agency for Work with Religious Associations of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vugar Babayev and published in Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages. AZERTAJ Nakhchivan office reports that the event was opened by the director of the State Agency for Work with Religious Association of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vugar Babayev, he, in his turn emphasized that President Ilham Aliyev’s precious ideas about Azerbaijani model of multiculturalism compiled from his speeches and interview’s from 2003 and up to now and are reflected in this book published in Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages. He noted that this valuable publication speaks about the projects implemented on the initiatives and leadership of the head of state in the field of development of multiculturalism, including intercultural and interreligious dialogue as well as the achievements gained both in the country and in internationally. Speaking at the event, academician Kamal Abdulla, chairman of the Baku International Center for Multiculturalims Board of Trustees, noted that one of the great services of national leader Heydar Aliyev was a great concern for the development of multiculturalism in our country. Today, President Ilham Aliyev continues this policy with persistence and conveys multiculturalism to the level of state policy. The multiculturalism policy pursued by the head of state accelerates integration processes throughout the country. In the international context, this policy has a strong impact on the devlopment of intercultural and interreligious dialogue. Because in Azerbaijan, multiculturalism has very serious historical geographical, ideological and political foundations. “As the president said, multiculturalism is a state policy. In every thought by the head of state collected in this publication we see it and feel love for our country, our people and all the peace-loving people in the world. The views and intructions of the President of Azerbaijan on multiculturalism continue after the Year of Multiculturalism, which he announced in 2016. We are witnessing it every day”, said Kamal Abdulla, marking that the next edition of the book will be published and the thoughts by the head of our state on Azerbaijani multiculturalism model, the future projects for the establishment of the multicultural mood in the world will be certainly reflected there. Kamal Abdulla stressed that Nakhchivan is respectful towards multicultural values and expressed profound gratitude to the head of the Autonomous Republic for organizing this event at a high level. Speaking at the event, academician Mukhtar Imanli noted that a book presented as an important aspect of the policy implemented in Azerbaijan reflects a number of theoretical issues of multiculturalism and featues of Azerbaijan’s multiculturalism model. Noting that publication of the ideas of the President of Azerbaijan on multiculturalism in three languages is of great importance, Mukhtar Imanli said that Azerbaijan’s multiculturalism is highly appreciated and illustrated in the world today. As President Ilham Aliyev noted, multiculturalism does not have an alternative. This is the only approach that will save the world of war and conflict. At a time when wars, conflicts, bloody fights and other problems are taking place in the international arena, Mukhtar Imanli noted that Azerbaijan is an oasis in the world, saying that peace, stability and high multicultural environment prevall in the country. This is the result of President Ilham Aliyev’s attitude towards each citizen irresolvable of his religion, language and national affiliation. It was stressed that growing interest in Azerbaijan’s experience in multiculturalism and tolerance throughout the world causes some foreign politicians to create the image of a state exporting oil, natural gas, and tolerance as well. The tolerance policy pursued by the Azerbaijani state provides for the further consolidation of friendship and brotherhood among the ethnic and religious communities living in the country. It should be noted that the book “President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the Azerbaijan model of multiculturalism” was presented at Nakhchivan State University and a new publication on multiculturalism was presented to the library of the university.
