An Event Titled “Women Wants Peace Everywhere” Was Held At The Azerbaijan University of Languages.
On March 7, the event was organized by the Students Scientific Society of the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) and the faculty of Philology and Journalism on the theme “Women Wants Peace Everywhere”, dedicated to the 8th of March International Women’s Day.
SSS chairman Lamia Mughalova informed about the International Women’s Day. She said that Azerbaijani women are vigorous in history and always actively participate in public-political processes.
The poet Gismet Rustamov, who was the guest of the event, sang his poem “Mətbəxtlik”, which he is the author of. He said he highly appreciated the measures taken to protect women’s rights.
Associate Professor of the Faculty of Philology and Journalism Vusal Aghabeyli touched upon such issues as domestic violence, gender inequality, and the lack of women’s socio-political spheres. She underlined the importance of women’s active participation in state bodies and the fact that women have equal rights with men.
Sarraf Huseynov, vice-rector for student affairs, emphasized the importance of women’s role in society and said that these greceful creaters have taken very important steps in preserving and promoting of our national-moral values.
The event ended with music.
