AUL celebrated China’s winter holiday

On December 27, on the initiative of the Confucius Institute at the university an event dedicated to China's Duncji (winter peak) was held at Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL).
In his opening speech, the Director of the Confucius Institute, Professor Rafig Abbasov noted that Duncji holiday occupies an important place in Chinese culture, provided general information about the history and basic philosophy.
Chinese studies students of the School of Regional Studies and International Relations spoke about origins, traditions, legends and ceremonies of Duncji holiday at the base of the concept of Yin and Yan, the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, which is associated with the worship of ancestors, as well as a variety of winter seasons in the Chinese calendar.
Duncji holiday is a symbol of the festival, including the length of winter and the beauty of Chinese ancient poems about flowers plum Meihua, was considered a symbol of national songs.
Then, employees of the above-mentioned institute held a master class on preparation of sweet soup from rice in the form of balls in -Tangyuan (prepared in the period of Han dynasty, which is a symbol of the unity of the family TEAM).
