On May 16, on the initiative of the department of Spain language a meeting was held with Cuban Plenipotentianary and Extraordinary ambassador to Azerbaijan Alfredo Nieves Portuondo and the employees of the said department and Spain language students of the School of Translation at Azerbaijan University of languages (AUL).

Greeting the guest, AUL vice rector  for International Relations, Associate Professor J.Garibova spoke about the university's history, international relations, and the learning process. Speaking about continuing education of students and teachers in Spain within the framework of the Erasmus Mundus program J.Garibova spoke about the seminars organized by Spain instructors at AUL according to this cooperation. Head of the department Aynur Guliyeva informed the ambassador about the department and the teaching of Spanish.

Noting that he visits Azerbaijan for the first time, the Ambassador expressed his satisfaction and confidence in further development of bilateral relations in the field of teaching.

Cuban is the multicultural state, ambassador said and informed students about the country's history, geography, sports, music and culture, the similar and different aspects between the two nations. Appreciating the teaching process at the university Ambassador Alfredo Nieves Portuondo answered the students’ questions.
