AUL held a seminar on Azerbaijan’s and China’s gender policy

On May 17, a seminar on "Chinese family: From Tradition to Modernity" dedicated to International Family Day was held at the Confucius Institute operating within Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL).

Director of Confucius Institute, Professor Rafig Abbasov spoke about the Chinese family, traditional models and its features. He pointed out the composition and structure of the Chinese family in relation to the socio - economic reforms in China Confucius Institute of the characteristics of family relationships in ancient China. Employees of Confucius Institute spoke about wedding traditions, history and culture of Chinese children, as well as Confucius philosophy’s impact on China's family.

 Speaking at the seminar Family, Women and Children Affairs expert, associate professor of the Department of Regional Studies Kifayat Aghayeva and the teacher of the above-mentioned department Fidan Alasgarova informed about the nature of gender relations of Azerbaijan and China.

In the end, a film "Big family" was featured dedicated to modern Chinese family.

It should be noted that the seminar was attended by the representative on Family, Women and Children's Affairs Azer İsaly.
