UN resident coordinator in Azerbaijan visited AUL

On May 17, the next visitor of the project "From ambassador to future one" of Student Diplomats Club (SDC) operating within the Student Youth Organization (SYO) was UN resident coordinator in Azerbaijan and United Nations Development Program (UNDP ) resident representative Ghulam Isakzai at Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL).

Before the event, vice rector for International Relations of AUL, Associate Professor J.Garibova expressed satisfaction of seeing him at the university. Speaking about the university's history, international relations, and the process of teaching, she said that different languages are taught at the university. Vice rector J.Garibova noted that AUL cooperates with a number of institutions of higher education and noted  the exchange of teachers and students.

Expressing his gratitude for warm reception Ghulam Isakzai said he was pleased to be at AUL. He said that he will share his experience in the diplomatic field with students.

Later, Ghulam Isakzai met with the students. He welcomed the students and thanked the university administration. Making a lecture on   “UN contributions in multidisciplinary diplomacy" he informed about himself to the students. Speaking about education, diplomatic activity he talked about the work done by the UN. Noting that the UN is intergovernmental organization,  Ghulam Isakzai spoke about goals  and the principles of the organization.

Besides talking about how to be a successful diplomat Ghulam Isakzai stressed the importance of setting right relations.

In her speech J.Garibova thanked the visitor on behalf of the university management. She expressed confidence that this meeting provided useful information for students.

The event ended with answering students' questions.
