AUL’s rector Kamal Abdulla met with Lithuanian writer and ambassador

On June 9, the rector of Azerbaijan University of Language, Academician Kamal Abdulla met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Lastauskas, famous Lithuanian writer and literary critic Thomas Venslova and his wife Tatiana Venslova.

Welcoming the guests, the rector Kamal Abdulla spoke about the prospects of cooperation with universities in Lithuania and concrete work will be done in this direction, he said. K.Abdulla shared his impressions about Lithuania, and reminded the story "Cornelius's death," related to this country.

He offered the opening of Lithuania Language and Culture Center at AUL, Azerbaijan Culture Center to open at one of the Universities of Lithuania, as well as to hold  Lithuanian Culture Day at AUL. The guests welcomed the offer with a great interest.

Expressing his gratitude for warm reception, the ambassador V.Lastauskas spoke about the development of relations between the two countries, and said that Azerbaijani students study in Lithuania. It is gratifying to see the Lithuanian-speaking Azerbaijani students in Lithuania, he said.

In his turn, Lithuanian writer T.Venslova shared his memories of Azerbaijan. He came to Baku 50 years ago, modern Baku completely changed and fascinate a man, the writer said.

Later, the writer T.Venslova met with AUL professor-teaching staff and was familiar with  the open  museum to perpetuate the memory of our dear  martyr Ulvi Bunyadzadeh.
