Rector of AUL Kamal Abdulla met with the ambassador of Korea

On July 20, the rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), full member of ANAS, honored scientist Kamal Abdulla met with Korean Ambassador Kim Jang-Qyu.

Welcoming the guest, the rector said he was glad to see him at the university. "We hope that our cooperation with you will continue to develop in a serious and useful way," Abdulla said, adding that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Korea is based on ancient roots. He also said that the high level of Korean language and culture at AUL also gives us the opportunity to realize our dreams: "We also want to teach Azerbaijani language, culture and history in one of the Korean universities. We ask you to establish a Center for Azerbaijani Language and Culture at a Korean University you can advise ". Rector K. Abdulla said that such a proposal had been made and favorable conditions for the implementation of this proposal now: "An Azerbaijani professor's activity at the Korean University will serve to deepen our relations".

He said that the Korean Center in AUL is one of the largest centers in the university. He also said that some of the students studying in other specialties have been instructed to hold some classes at this center. He said this could lead to a broader propagation of Korean language and culture: "At the same time, if Azerbaijani language and culture are taught at one of the Korean universities tomorrow, it can play a key role in joint cooperation".

K.Abdulla suggested creating a permanent seminar of Altai scholars, saying that the idea of the cultural and spiritual unity of Altai people was very native to him, and said that the Korean Center at AUL could play a key role in this. He also noted the possibility of opening the Altayistics section in "Turkology" magazine.

Expressing gratitude for the sincere reception, K.C.Qyu said that "Our embassy attaches great importance to cooperation with AUL" and said that Korean language was successfully taught here, as well as very useful scientific exchange. "Education is very important in the co-operation of the Altai people," the ambassador said, adding that opening of the Azerbaijani Language and Culture Center in Korea and collaborating with relevant authorities in solving issues related to professorial-teacher exchanges. He said that they want to further expand the activity of the Korean Center in AUL and to turn that center into a more scientific center.

"The opening of the Azerbaijani Language and Culture Center in Korea, and the contribution to the development of Korean Studies in AUL can bring it to a higher level," said the ambassador. The diplomat welcomed K.Abdulla's proposal and said he would deliver with great pleasure the lecture at "Ambassador's Time" club in AUL.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual cooperation.
