A meeting with the delegation of the Shanghai University of Law and Cooperation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) headed by Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Professor Vey Van, was held at the Confucius Institute under the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL). Director of Azerbaijan Confucius Institute, Professor Rafig Abbasov noted that the country has supported the concept of "One Pipeline - One Way", which combines China's "Silk Road Economic Belt" and "The Silk Road of the 21st Century" projects. He also emphasized that Azerbaijan was given a status of partner for dialogue with the SCO. At the same time, he noted that there are broad prospects for cooperation in the field of intercultural dialogue, multiculturalism and promotion of tolerance, energy security, transport and other spheres, which are relevant for SCO. During the meeting, China's Director of the Confucius Institute Li Jihua briefed on the role of Confucius Institute in the teaching process of the Silk Road revitalization project and its public activities. Vey Van emphasized the importance of expanding the Azerbaijani-Chinese scientific cooperation in the implementation of the global project on the rehabilitation of the Great Silk Road. He spoke about the economic opportunities of this project as well as its role in modern geo-economics and geopolitics. In the end, the guests were presented a book entitled "Ilham Aliyev - a contemporary follower of friendship between two ancient people", prepared by the Institute of Confucius Institute of AUL in Azerbaijani and Chinese, and President Ilham Aliyev's contribution to the development of relations between the two countries.
