Rector of AUL Kamal Abdulla met with Italian Ambassador

Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), Acting member of ANAS, honored scientist Kamal Abdulla met with Italian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan Aucusto Massari on October 17.

Congratulating A.Massari on his appointment as ambassador, Abdulla expressed hope that the good relations between the two countries will continue. According to him, the relations between the embassy and AUL are the basis of the dialogue between the two countries.

Speaking about Italy, the rector recalled that he was in his home at the invitation of world-renowned Italian writer Umberto Eco. Speaking about these memories, the rector shared his impressions about Italy.

Speaking about cooperation in the field of multiculturalism, K.Abdulla said that one of the universities in which the subject of "Azerbaijani multiculturalism" is taught is the Italian La Sapiens University. Speaking about cooperation with many foreign universities, the rector added that he would seek to continue these relations with the La Sapiens University: "I will try to get Italian scientists to come to Azerbaijan. I'm interested in establishing close contacts with Italian scientists. I hope that Mr. Ambassador will help us implement our dreams in this direction. We would be glad that the subject of "Azerbaijani multiculturalism" to be taught not only at La Sapiens University, but also in other higher educational institutions. "

K.Abdulla noted that the relations with foreign universities not only end with the teaching of "Azerbaijan multiculturalism". Students studying this subject are invited to summer and winter multicultural schools in Azerbaijan and get acquainted with the life of different peoples living in our country.

Speaking about the Italian language in the spirit of all cultural languages, the rector informed the guest about the Italian language at AUL and the Italian Language Center. He asked the ambassador to assist in opening an Azerbaijani language and culture center at one of the Italian universities. K.Abdulla underlined that preparatory work has already begun in China, Romania and Indonesia, adding that AUL is ready to take all necessary steps to open such a center in Italy.

In turn, Ambassador A. Massari noted that Azerbaijan was well-known in the country and that there was a warm relationship between the Italian embassy and AUL. "I hope these relations will be more productive. I would like to contribute to the cooperation, as well as to the teaching of "Azerbaijan multiculturalism". I am sure that other Italian universities will also be interested in teaching this subject. "

The Ambassador added that at Bologna University the teaching of "Azerbaijan multiculturalism" can be organized, and he will inform the rector of this university. He said that he welcomed the proposal to open an Azerbaijani language and culture center in one of the Italian universities: "I promise that I will fulfill this proposal, and I will put your request among the proposals made to me. Because of, the relationship between universities is a priority. "

The Ambassador positively assessed the invitation of the rector of AUL to read a lecture in the "Ambassador's Time" club and said he would be glad to meet with the students, including the graduates of Italian language.

At the end of the meeting the Ambassador was presented the book "Literary and Artistic Sources of Azerbaijani Multiculturalism" and the works of the rector K.Abdulla published in Italy.
