Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), Acting member of ANAS, honored scientist Kamal Abdulla met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Azerbaijan Juan Rodrigo Labardini Flores on October 17.

Welcoming the ambassador, Abdulla evaluated his arrival as a start of new and special relations. The Rector said that Spanish language is taught at AUL: "We also have the desire and hopes to study Mexico. I hope you will be helping us realize these desires. " K. Abdulla invited the ambassador to read a lecture at the “Ambassador’s  hour” club in order to make students more informed about Mexico. He also added that the Spanish Language Center operates at AUL and it would be great if the Center of Azerbaijani Language and Culture be opened in one of the Mexican universities: "We would like to have the opportunity to promote our culture in Mexico. This would be mutually beneficial. We look forward to supporting you in that direction. "

In turn, the ambassador thanked K. Abdulla for the sincere reception. The diplomat welcomed the lecture at the "Ambassador’s hour" club, adding that he will make a presentation about his country in his lecture. J.R.L.Flores proposed to hold a series of events for students at AUL. According to him, it is possible to organize conversational club, cinema club, reading associations, to discuss certain works: "What I said is just panorama of ideas. One of the main goals is to promote Mexican culture. " The ambassador offered a special "Dead Day" in Mexico and gave detailed information about the essence of the day. Responding to him, the rector K.Abdulla said that AUL is ready to assist in arranging listed events. At the same time, the university is interested in comparative study of multicultural environment in Azerbaijan with Mexican multiculturalism. Therefore, it would be expedient to open an Azerbaijani language and culture center at one of the Mexican universities and teach the subject "Azerbaijan multiculturalism": "The opening of such a center can lead to the establishment of Mexico in Azerbaijan and the establishment of a Mexican lobby in Azerbaijan. It seems to me that the work we see in this direction will serve the interests of both nations. “Ambassador welcomed the proposal and said that he would conduct research to open the Center for Azerbaijani Language and Culture in one of the Mexican universities.

At the end of the meeting, the ambassador was presented “The literary and artistic resources of Azerbaijan multiculturalism” and the play of K.Abdulla in Spanish.
