On October 26, a presentation of the book "Introduction to Linguistics" by Fakhraddin Veyselli, the Head of the Laboratory of Experimental Phonetics and Applied Linguistics Research Laboratory, was organized by the Auditorium + Department of Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL).

Professor Azad Mammadov, Head of the Department of General Linguistics, speaking at the opening speech, noted that the introduction of Linguistics was taught in Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages. Speaking about the importance of the subject, he said that he played a great role in learning linguistics.

The author of the book F. Veyselli welcomed the participants and thanked them for participating in the event. Later, the lecturer gave information about the book "Introduction to Linguistics" and spoke about the peculiarities of the textbook. He noted that, while preparing the book, bringing the world-linguistic heritage to Azerbaijan, introducing Azerbaijani students to new science achievements, bringing them the basics of linguistics and coordinating theory and practice. According to F.Veyselli, in the book, which consists of 20 chapters, the problem of modern linguistics has been investigated and 100 test questions have been added to the book.

Other speakers regarded the book "Introduction to Linguistics" as a comprehensible teaching material, which brings broad theoretical provisions, introduces linguistic science to the public, and has great practical value for students and researchers. They wished the author success in his creative work.

At the end of the event, Head of Audience + department, Bedira Karimova wished F.Veyselli success in his creative work and presented him a gift.

It should be noted that the book "Introduction to Linguistics" illustrates the structure of the language and linguistics, the structure and system of language, its relation with linguistics departments and other sciences, the object and subject of linguistics, its research methods, the inner structure of the language, the word and sentence semantics in terms of modern theories comments.
