AUL has celebrated the traditional "Day of the Dead" of Mexicans

On October 31, the event was organized by the Spanish Language Center of Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) on the occasion of Mexico's "Day of the Dead". First Vice-Rector for International Relations Jale Garibova gave detailed information about the Day of the Dead to the students studying the Spanish language of the Faculty of Translation and Culture. She spoke about the similarities and differences between the national traditions of the Azerbaijani people and the Feast of the Dead, adding that holidays of different origin were celebrated in both countries.

 Later, Mexican Ambassador to Azerbaijan Rodrigo Labardini informed the participants of the event about the territory, population and geographical position of the United States of America, as well as historical roots and traditions of the celebration. "Every year on Nov. 2, the Mexicans celebrate this holiday with great enthusiasm. Today, in the home of every Mexican woman, a table is opened in honor of those who have died, their favorite music sounds. In this way, we are trying to feel the spirit of the dead. To make them happy we enjoy our meal, we try to be joyful, and do our utmost so that their spirits will not hurt us. We remind them that we have not forgotten our loved ones who have moved from the world. "

At an interactive event, Ambassador Rodrigo Labardini answered the questions of the students.

Short film animated film "Till the Bones" was also shown at the event.

It should be noted that a stand was set up at AUL on "Day of the Dead". Sweets and other examples of the holiday were presented on the stand.
