Professional Journalists Met AUL Students

On November 15, Yadigar Mammadli, Head of Press Center of Baku International Multiculturalism Center, Zulfugar Huseynzadeh, Editor-in-Chief of Moderator.az Information Portal, and Emin Mousavi, Head of ASAN FM radio, met the students of the Faculty of Philology and Journalism at Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL). Y.Mammadli spoke about the multicultural values existing ​​in Azerbaijan. He said “the subject of "Azerbaijani multiculturalism" is taught in 17 countries of the world and about 40 universities in Azerbaijan. Y.Mammadli said “the students learned about the culture, history and literature of Azerbaijan according to their own choice. Speaking about journalism in Azerbaijan, Y.Mammadli noted the role of this field in the enlightenment and development of the society. Saying that journalist work requires great love, he mentioned “the main features of the specialists involved in this work are patriotism and professionalism.” Z.Huseynzadeh said that a successful career of their children is one of the most important issues for their parents interested in it. That’s why he advised the students to begin their career just from the period of their studies, besides mastering their specialty.  Apart from theoretical knowledge of young people, wishing to get the specialty of journalism, one of the most important factors for them   is to have a special talent as well, he added. Z.Huseynzadeh said “the students studying different languages ​​ at Azerbaijan University of Languages ​​will be able to achieve greater publicity to propagate the reality of history of Azerbaijan in the future from the world arenas and international organizations. Mentioning journalism as a very valuable profession, Z.Huseynzadeh spoke about the existence of favorable conditions for working in this field in Azerbaijan. He highlighted their readiness to support students in their future successful career life and invited them to cooperation. Emin Mousavi, the head of ASAN FM radio station, spoke about the importance of reading for becoming a professional journalist. He noted that there are gaps in this direction, because the youth are not so much interested in books. E. Mousavi also spoke about the importance of specialization according to the fields for the people working in the field of journalism. In his turn, Mammad Ismayilov, Head of the Department of Experience, Professional Development and Career of AUL, said “Being a kind of specialty requiring regular practice, journalism  is realized  within the framework of  the project "Experience before practice" at  AUL which serves the interests of the students in this direction. Dwelling on the issue M.Ismayilov mentioned that “the project ensures the formation of professional culture of a journalist in the students and allows them to combine directly theory with experience”. Discussions on different fields of journalism,  its different  advantages, accurate transmission of information to the readers, characteristic  features  of the news  broadcast via social media were held; at the same  time, the students’   impression  on taking part in the project "Experience before practice" were  listened to and  the students' questions were answered during the meeting.
