AUL held the 25th anniversary of Khojaly genocide On February 23, Confucius Institute operating at Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) hosted the event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Khojaly genocide. Speaking at the opening the director of the Confucius Institute, Professor Rafig Abbasov spoke about the results of the Khojaly genocide in the twentieth century, one of the tragic events and stressed the need to spread the world about the tragedy. For the recognition of the Khojaly genocide by the international community, the first vice-president of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva has done great work , professor stressed and spoke about the campaign "Justice for Khojaly" done by the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva. Head of the department of Arab countries history and economy of Institute of Oriental Studies of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Farda Asadov spoke about the history of the Khojaly genocide and stressed the importance of intensifying efforts by the international community for recognition of genocide. AUL employee, a member of the Writers' Union, witness to the events in Khojaly Vahid Ali sounded a piece of poem "Khojaly". In the end, a video was shown devoted to Khojaly genocide in the Chinese language.
