Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), acting member of ANAS, honored scientist Kamal Abdulla has received Luis Chang Boldrini, the Chargé d'Affaires of Peru to our country. Expressing his satisfaction with the diplomacy at the university, the rector said that the AUL students are aware of the Spanish-speaking countries: “We see the way to be informed about Peru as well as to communicate with you. I hope you will help us to establish relationships with Peru universities”. K.Abdulla informed the guest about the multiculturalism of Azerbaijan. He noted that 2016 was declared the Year of Multiculturalism in our country and stressed that multiculturalism is a state policy in our country. He said that Azerbaijan's friends in the world are growing in the face of both individuals and countries. The rector hopes that Peru is among the friends of Azerbaijan. K.Abdulla noted that “Azerbaijan's multiculturalism” was taught in about 20 countries of the world. He added that if the University offers a university for teaching this course, Peru will appreciate this proposal. According to K.Abdulla, students studying this course will have a general idea not only about Azerbaijan, but also about the region. Another interesting point is that a specialist sent to Peru can help to establish closer ties between the specialists of that country and Azerbaijan: “It will help us to get students to come to Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani students to go to Peru. If the project is put into practice, very close communication between academics and students can arise”. In his turn, Luis Chang Boldrini said he was honored to come to AUL: “Here I want to show that this visit will be the beginning of the relations between the universities. Youth is very important in society. Therefore, organizing meetings with students at universities is emotional”. The diplomat said that Azerbaijan and Peru have similar features, and Azerbaijan is a very tolerant country. According to him, the existence of a university like AUL in Azerbaijan is also a sign of tolerance. The Chargé d'Affaires welcomed the offer of the course “Azerbaijan multiculturalism” in Peru. He noted that this could lead to a closer relationship between the two countries. The diplomat added that the work in this direction can be started with student-teacher exchanges. Later the diplomat met with the students within the project “Ambassador’s time” and made a presentation about his country.
