The Ambassadors of 3 Countries Visited AUL

On November 17, Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages ​​(AUL), Full member of ANAS, Honored scientist Kamal Abdulla met with Argentinean Ambassador to Azerbaijan  Mr.Carlos Dante Riva. K.Abdulla thanked the Ambassador for special courses organized by the representatives of the Argentine Embassy for the university students. Rector mentioned several areas for cooperation: "We wish to cooperate with the universities of Argentina. We need your help in this initiative. "Rector added “AUL students have a special affection for Argentina, and so much can be done from this point of view. Mentioning that relations with South American universities almost don’t exist, Rector asked the Ambassador to find a partner university to AUL. According to him, the establishment of the Center of the Azerbaijani language and culture at the same university and the establishment of the Center of Argentine Culture in AUL can lead to the development of direct contacts. Rector also offered to teach the course of "Azerbaijani multiculturalism” at one of the Argentine universities which is taught at 17 universities in the world. In his turn, the Ambassador Mr.K.Riva spoke about the role of universities in the development of interstate relations. He said “various tourism companies in the country want to bring tourists from Argentina to Azerbaijan. They need Spanish-speaking guides and translators, that means new jobs for both AUL graduates and students.” Mentioning his readiness for supporting, the Ambassador presented the Rector books on different themes sent by his country's Foreign Affairs Institute. He said “Although there are no exactly language universities in Argentina, there are higher education institutions teaching different languages: "I will try to involve Buenos Aires University in cooperation. In our opinion, the doors should be opened not only to Azerbaijan, but to the entire region. I think that Azerbaijan should become Argentina's strategic partner. I'll try to find suitable universities for you. " The Ambassador welcomed the invitation of Rector K.Abdulla and said he would deliver a lecture with great pleasure within the framework of the university's "Ambassadorial Hour" project. In the end, the Ambassador was presented the book "Literary and Artistic Resources of Azerbaijani Multiculturalism." Another meeting of Rector was held with Michael Kindsgrab, the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Germany to Azerbaijan. Noting the event dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Germans' relocation to the Caucasus which was recently held at AUL, Rector talked about the future plans. He said “It is planned to open the Institute of Germanistics at AUL in the nearest future. "I hope Germanistics will have great prospects here". Speaking about the mutual investigation of “The Book of Dada Gorgud” and "The Song of Nibelungs", K.Abdulla expressed his hope that this project will continue to expand in the framework of the Institute of Germanistics. According to him, such projects serve to further strengthen the relations between our peoples. In his turn, the Ambassador Mr.M.Kindsgrab said “the relations have deep roots.” Stressing the importance of cooperation with universities, the diplomat expressed his satisfaction with the level of relationships with AUL. Later, Michael Kindsgrab met with the teaching staff and students of the university within the framework of the project "Ambassadorial Hour" with the organization of the German reading hall of AUL. Presenting the guest to the participants, Vice-rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Jala Garibova, expressed her greatest pleasure to see him at the university. The Ambassador Mr. M.Kindsgrab made a report on "The Germans' 200 Year Placement and Tourism in Azerbaijan". The students’ questions were answered at the event. Another meeting in the framework of the project "Ambassadorial Hour" was held with the participation of Italian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mr. Augusto Massari, organized by the Italian Language Center. Speaking on the topic "Italian and European Identity in Challenges to Multiculturalism: Comparison with Azerbaijani Experience", the Ambassador shared his views on the development of multiculturalism ideas in Azerbaijan and said that people of different religions and nations live in peace and harmony here. Sevda Abbasova, Sura Abasova and Madina Hussein presented their presentations on "Multiculturalism in Azerbaijan" to the Ambassador and guests. The meeting ended with the answering of the students’ questions.
