The Azerbaijan University of Languages held an event, called "Graduate-35", dedicated to graduates, who studied at the university in 1985-1990.

At the beginning of the event, the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played.

The memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and of the shehids, who gave their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, was honored with a minute of silence.

The opening speech was made by the chairman of the district party organization of the ruling party YENI AZERBAIJAN on the territory of the school №264 of the Khatai district Telman Rustamov. He warmly welcomed the graduates and expressed his joy at their return to their home university.

AUL Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Hamida Aliyeva conveyed the greeting of the rector of the university, academician Kamal Abdulla, to the participants of the event.

It was noted that in recent years the university has achieved significant success. It was emphasized that the promotion of AUL in the QS rating tables and the growth of the international authority of the university are the result of the hard and fruitful work of the management, teaching staff and students.

Chairman of the Trade Union Committee of AUL, Associate Professor Misger Mamedov, also made a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of such meetings and the constant attention of the university to its graduates. He emphasized the importance of working with graduates.

Then the participants of the event were presented with a slide presentation telling about the student years of the graduates.

Speeches were delivered by Associate Professor Sevinj Takieva, Chairman of the Association of English Teachers of Azerbaijan Ryagsana Mammadova, Senior Lecturer at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction Amalia Sezgin, Doctor from Wisconsin (USA) Nyazakyat Bayramova, teacher of secondary school №143 of Baku Khuraman Safarova, as well as director of Sangalan Tikiti Tyamir Tyachizat LLC Fikret Khankishiyev.

The speakers noted that in recent years AUL has become an internationally recognized educational institution, and these successes became possible thanks to the joint efforts of the management, faculty, graduates and students.

On behalf of the university graduates, a laptop and a printer were presented to the university.

One of the most touching moments of the meeting was the division of graduates with their interesting memories. Their nostalgic stories about student years gave the event a special emotionality.
