CELI examination center opened at AUL

On May 5, CELI (Certificato di Conoscenza della Lingua Italiana) examination center was opened at the Azerbaijan University of Languages.

The opening of the center took place within the framework of joint cooperation between the University for Foreigners of Perugia (Italy) and the University's Italian Language Center.

Before the opening ceremony, there was a meeting with the rector of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, Professor Valerio de Cesaris, the Ambassador of Italy to Azerbaijan Luca Di Gianfrancesco and other guests.

AUL Rector, Academician Kamal Abdulla, expressed his joy to greet guests of honor at the university. He noted that there are close economic, political, scientific and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Italy. The importance of the work done in the field of education in the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Italy was emphasized: "Friendly and partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Italy are manifested in all spheres. It is of great importance to establish contacts with universities operating in Italy. Establishment of new ties, exchange of teachers and students, issues of scientific partnership contribute to the development of Azerbaijani-Italian relations. For the first time, we are participating in the opening of the CELI examination center in cooperation with the University for Foreigners of Perugia, one of the most prestigious universities in Italy. This event combines very important factors. The opening of the center is very important not only from a scientific point of view, but also from the point of view of the development of our partnerships. I believe that the center will be of great importance in achieving new scientific successes, both by our teachers and students."

The Rector of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, Professor Valerio de Cesaris, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and kind words. It was noted that relations between the two countries are constantly developing. The two countries are connected by strong traditions of friendship and cooperation. The relations of the parties are mutually beneficial partnership and are based on the principles of respect for each other's interests. Mutual visits of the leaders of both countries give a great impetus to the development of relations. Speaking about the recently opened center, the guest expressed confidence that the relationship between AUL and the University of Perugia will continue. Italian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Luca Di Gianfrancesco spoke about the importance of the event. He noted that the Azerbaijani-Italian ties are at the level of strategic partnership. The development of these relations is also observed in the field of education and science. Underlining the importance of cooperation between AUL and the University of Perugia, the ambassador mentioned availability of new prospects in terms of future scientific cooperation.

Chairman of the working group on inter-parliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and Italy in the Milli Majlis, deputy Azer Kerimli, spoke about the development of Azerbaijani-Italian relations and the advantages of scientific cooperation between universities. It was noted that Italy has always supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and statements on this matter have been repeatedly made by both the Parliament and the Senate. The first European delegation to visit Azerbaijan and the liberated territories of Azerbaijan after the end of the forty-four-day war was the Italian Parliament and the Senate joint delegation.

Other guests also spoke about the importance of cooperation between the AUL and the University of Perugia.

The successful development of scientific relations will have a positive impact on friendly and partnership relations between the two countries.

Then, within the framework of joint cooperation between the Azerbaijan University of Languages and the University for Foreigners of Perugia (Università per Stranieri di Perugia) at the Italian Language Center, the CELI (Certificato di Conoscenza della Lingua Italiana) examination center was opened.
