‘’Breath for Life’’ performance, based on the book of the outstanding public figure, writer and playwright of Hungary Sándor Lezsak, was presented at Nakhchivan State University. The production was prepared for the first time in Azerbaijan by the Department of Theater and Cultural Studies of the Faculty of Arts of NSU.

 

The event was attended by the author of the work, the outstanding writer Sándor Lezak, the Ambassador of Hungary to Azerbaijan Tomás József Torma, the management and staff of the University of Janos von Neumann, the Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages Academician Kamal Abdulla, the corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Professor Rafik Aliyev, the management of NSU,writers, teachers and students.

 

The content of the play, reflecting the heavy social atmosphere of Hungary during the communist period, aroused great interest among the audience, and was met with ovations. Deep traces left by the war on people, unfulfilled dreams and difficult conditions were conveyed through an interesting and rich stage design, as well as, most importantly, by a talented acting that made the production memorable and impressive.

 

Rector of Nakhchivan State University Elbrus Isaev delivered a speech. He thanked Sandor Lezsak for accepting the invitation and visiting NSU. The rector described the performance as a contribution and integration into the literary and cultural environment of Hungary and Azerbaijan. He expressed his gratitude to the author for supporting this responsible and special initiative, and also conveyed special greetings to the Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Hungary Tahir Taghizade for his assistance in establishing and developing cooperation. The rector highly appreciated the translation of the work from Hungarian into Azerbaijani and the acting performances, congratulated the creative team of the theater on a new creative success.

 

The outstanding writer Sandor Lezsak highly appreciated the performance, thanked the team on stage and presented gifts. In his speech, he noted that the work was first staged in 1987. He added that in the following years the performance was staged on other stages, but the production at Nakhchivan State University will be remembered as unique and professional. The writer expressed hope for further expansion of cooperation between Janos von Neumann University and NSU.

 

The rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, Academician Kamal Abdulla, expressed his admiration for the high level of training and unforgettable acting. He stressed the need to demonstrate such a successful work of art, started in Nakhchivan, to a wider audience, and wished the creative team success in future activities.

 

It should be noted that the director of the performance is Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Gulkhar Akhmedov, the consultant is People's Artist of Azerbaijan Kyamran Kuliyev. The editor of the work is Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Tofig Seidov, set designer - Honored Artist of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Javid Ismailov, musical design - Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mubariz Askerov, props and artist - Arzu Novruzov. Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Nurbeniz Niftaliyeva and Yusif Rzayev, a second-year student of the specialty "Acting" of the Department of "Theater and Cultural Studies", played in the performance.

It should be noted that the vice-speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, the world-famous writer Sándor Lezsak and the accompanying delegation visited Nakhchivan State University on May 13 and 14.
