Event Titled "Autism is Not a Sentence" Held at ADU

On May 16, 2024, Azerbaijan University of Languages (ADU) hosted an enlightening event titled "Autism is Not a Sentence." Organized by Naibə Xiyalova, Senior Lecturer at the Pedagogy Department, the event aimed to raise awareness about autism and its impact on individuals and society.
The event was attended by several key figures, including the rector’s advisor A. Osmanlı, Dr. Nigar Zeynalova, Head of the Pedagogy Department, Dr. F. Rzayeva, Head of the Master’s Department, Dr. G. Israfilova, lecturer K. Ibadova, and students from the Correctional Education and English Language Teaching programs at ADU.
The program included informative presentations on autism, highlighting real-life examples to demonstrate how society can influence the lives of individuals with autism. The discussions also focused on practical solutions to support people with autism in various settings. Additionally, the event shared inspiring stories of famous people with autism, emphasizing the potential and achievements of those living with the condition.
The event contributed significantly to promoting understanding and acceptance of autism, further advancing ADU's commitment to inclusivity and support for individuals with special needs.
