Master Class for Individuals with Special Needs Held at the "Tandem" Family Support Center

On December 24, 2024, a master class was organized for individuals with special needs in collaboration with the fourth-year students from the Correctional Education program at the Faculty of Education of Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) and Dr. Samira Hasanova, a faculty member from AUL's Pedagogy Department. The event took place at the "Tandem" Family Support Center, a hub dedicated to supporting individuals with special needs.
During the session, participants from the center’s "Care" group, consisting of Special Needs Individuals (SİM), were introduced to the creative activity of painting gypsum figures. The participants had the opportunity to explore various color shades, which allowed them to engage in artistic expression while painting their favorite gypsum sculptures. The figures created included diverse items such as cars, flowers, animals, and festive New Year-themed accessories.
The event not only provided a therapeutic and enjoyable experience for the participants but also laid the groundwork for deeper integration between AUL's Correctional Education students and the individuals from the center. Plans are already underway to organize more frequent and intensive meetings between these two groups, allowing for continued collaboration and increased involvement of students and SİM individuals in joint activities.
This initiative highlights AUL's ongoing commitment to fostering inclusive education and creating opportunities for meaningful engagement between students and individuals with special needs.
