The Department of Strategic Development and Planning was established at Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) with the aim of formulating new development strategies, enhancing the quality of education, and improving institutional governance.

The core function of the department is to define strategic goals that guide the university’s future development, ensure their effective implementation, and conduct ongoing monitoring. In alignment with contemporary requirements in higher education, the department develops and executes comprehensive plans aimed at enhancing quality, strengthening research capacity, and improving the university’s position in international rankings.

The department operates in close collaboration with other key structural units of the university — including the Departments of Academic Affairs, Internal Control, International Relations, and Human Resources — ensuring the integration of strategic decisions into daily operational processes.

To guarantee the department’s effective performance, a phased approach is applied to the recruitment of professional personnel, formation of the staff structure, and appointment of qualified specialists to relevant positions.

The Department of Strategic Development and Planning oversees the implementation of both short- and long-term development plans, undertaking necessary measures to improve governance mechanisms, ensure the efficient use of internal resources, and maintain institutional sustainability.
