Department of Knowledge Assessment

I. History

The Student  Department began its activities in 1964. It continued its activities in 2006 as the Registration Section within the Department of Studies, as a result of structural changes made in November 2016 as the Department of Knowledge Assessment and Monitoring, since November 2019 as the Department of Student Registration and Knowledge Assessment.

It continues its activities since January 2024 as the Department of Knowledge Assessment.

II. Areas of activities

The principles of the Knowledge Assessment Department are summarized with reference to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), a flexible credit system that meets the requirements of the Bologna Process. The main activities of the Knowledge Assessment Department are as follows:

1. Preparation of academic transcripts;

2. Entering information into the State Electronic Information System "Student-Graduate" of the State Examination Center (personal data, data on progress and graduate);

3. Registration related to the involvement of students with academic debts in repeat classes;

4. Preparation of draft orders related to the organization of additional education;

5. Preparation of information on students admitted to the Final State Certification and awarding students with ordinary diplomas or diplomas with honors;

6. Entering information on students in the database on all aspects;

7. Submission to the relevant dean's offices on the admission of students who have completed the educational program to the Final State Certification;

8. Entering into the State Electronic Information System “Student-Graduate” orders issued for courses of faculties (internal-external transfers of students, expulsions, academic leave, changes of names, surnames or patronymics, transfer from one course to another), information about graduates of bachelor's and master's degrees of the university;

9. Planning and drawing up examination sessions and work schedules of the State Attestation Commissions, organizing and holding final examinations in cooperation with the deans' offices of AUL;

10. Drawing up examination tickets in accordance with the subject programs (syllabus) of the departments.

11. Organization and control over the holding of winter and spring examination sessions, summer school;

12. Summarizing, analyzing and sending the results of the examination session to the relevant deans' offices;

13. Analysis by faculties of the number of students who failed the exam (section), were not admitted to take it, as well as those who did not take part in the exams for valid reasons;

14. Providing a list of disciplines in which students most often fail the exam, sending them to the relevant departments and analyzing the results;

15. Organization and conducting an assessment of the achievements of teachers and students (overall average performance indicator) at the bachelor's and master's levels at AUL.
