The Section of the International Conference Dedicated to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev in Samara

Azerbaijan University of Languages (the AUL) holds the I International Scientific Conference “Heydar Aliyev: Multiculturalism and the Ideology of Tolerance” dedicated to the 95th Jubilee of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev with the support of the New Azerbaijan Party and Baku International Centre of Multiculturalism.

The sections of the conference have been organized at the Universities of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Germany, Italy, Serbia, Russia, China, Ukraine, Belorussia and Georgia.

The sections of the conference in different countries have started their work. The following sections have already been held: the section on “The Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan Is the First Democratic Republic in the East” at Ural Federal University after B.Yeltsin in Russia; the section on “Heydar Aliyev’s Role in the Development of Azerbaijani-Ukrainian Relations” at Kiev National Linguistics University in Ukraine; the section on “Heydar Aliyev and the Turkic World” at Ataturk University in Turkey; the section on “Modern Azerbaijan: Social, Political and Economic Development” at Erciyez University in Turkey;  the section on “Above the Borders: Russia and Azerbaijan: the Practice of Intercultural Dialogue” at the State Russian Language Institute after A.S.Pushkin; the section on “Multiculturalism, Social Security, Immigration, Freedom” at Southern Lazio University in Italy; the section on “The Dialogue of Languages and Cultures as a Factor of Co-existence in the Polycentric World” at Moscow State Linguistics University.

On 20 April Samara Branch of Moscow Pedagogical University held the section on “East-West: Intercultural Dialogue in the XXI Century”  of the International Conference dedicated to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

The event started with the demonstration of the film dedicated to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s life and activities. Then in connection with the session the letter of congratulation and gratitude of the Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages, Full member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Honoured Scholar Kamal Abdulla was read.

At the session the member of Samara Governorate Duma Galina Kozlovskaya wished success to the participants of the conference and underlined the importance of such kind of events.

The Head of Samara Branch of Moscow City Pedagogical University, Professor Kozlovskaya Galina Yefimovna expressed her pleasure from the fact that the panel session of the internationally important conference dedicated to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was being held at Samara Branch and thanked Academician Kamal Abdulla, the initiator of the significant event.

In his speech the Head of the Russian Studies Centre (Azerbaijan University of Languages), Professor Mammad Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan has always played the role of a bridge between East and West. The professor noted that the dialogue between Eastern and Western civilizations and the idea of universal unity has turned into one of the main priorities of the global development in the XXI century. Emphasizing the development of the cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, M.Aliyev recalled that the UNESCO’s declaration of 2001 as “the Year of Civilizations’ Dialogue”, the International Forum on “The Advancement of the Women’s Role in Intercultural Dialogue” in Baku in 2008, the declaration of Baku the capital of Islamic culture, Azerbaijan’s hosting the International Humanitarian Forum, The World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue and other significant events serve the realization of this idea.

The Head of the Russian Studies Centre (Azerbaijan University of Languages), Professor Mammad Aliyev, the Deputy Director of  Samara Branch of Moscow Pedagogical University Elchin Hashimov, the teacher of the Russian State University of Court of Justice Igor Ivanishko, the Associate Professor of Samara Branch of Moscow Pedagogical University Elina Chuykova and others spoke on religious tolerance and multiculturalism in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani-Russian relations, Heydar Aliyev and the idea of cultural diversity, teaching the Eastern languages and other themes.

In the frames of the conference there was a presentation of the book “President Ilham Aliyev on the Azerbaijani Model of Multiculturalism”.
