29 june, 2017

Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), full member of ANAS Kamal Abdulla met with Vice President of Valenciennes University Arnaud Huftier on June 29.

Welcoming the guest, the rector said he was glad to see him at the university. He expressed confidence that the French Centers operating in AUL will strengthen ties with the universities of this country: "I hope that the number of franchophone in Azerbaijan will increase".

Rector K.Abdulla invited the French ambassador to read a lecture at "Ambassador's time". Speaking about his relations with the French universities, the rector said that he was interested in expanding and deepening ties with French universities. "I will do my best so that the Azerbaijani-French relations become more prosperous in the face of AUL. I say this as an Azerbaijani, not as an author of four books in France".

Talking about cooperation in the field of multiculturalism, Abdulla said that there are a lot of things to be done in this direction. Speaking about the lines connecting Azerbaijan and France, he said that French language, literature and culture were studied and promoted in AUL. "We would like to have the same center in Azerbaijan as France. We need a teaching platform in one of the French universities. If we are a propagandist of French culture here, we would like to have the same attitude in France. We are trying to have more people here who love France. This is good for Azerbaijan. In France, the increase of people who love Azerbaijan can be profitable for France ".

In turn A.Huftier thanked for the warm welcome. "We are also Azerbaijanis in the heart," said A.Huftier, speaking about the prospects of joint projects. He said he believed the French embassy would support the implementation of these projects. A.Huftier stressed that they are interested in cooperation with AUL and noted that cooperation in such areas as student exchange, joint research, translation is possible. Speaking about the issue of bilateral diplomacy, A.Huftier invited K.Abdulla to his university and spoke about the opening of a center for studying Azerbaijan: "It would be good if the Center of Azerbaijani Language and Culture be opened in our university. There are prospects for our cooperation in the field of language learning through our literature ".
