The 10th Baku International Book Fair (Baku International Book Fair-2024), organized by the Ministry of Culture, was held at Baku Expocenter from October 2 to 8. The largest book fair in the region was attended by well-known publishing houses of the country, book promotion institutions, prestigious universities, including the Azerbaijan University of Languages.

The exhibition was also attended by 56 foreign organizations from 18 countries representing four continents, as well as enterprises related to publishing, printing and book activities.

On October 3, a group of delegates from the People's Republic of China, who took part in the X Baku International Book Fair, became guests of the Azerbaijan University of Languages.

Delegation, headed by Zhou Jianjun, Deputy General Director of Phonix Publishing and Media Group, and Wang Yang, President of the Publishing House of the East China Normal University, as well as AUL management, took part in the meeting.

Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, Academician Kamal Abdulla, warmly welcomed the guests, saying he was pleased to see them at the university.

Emphasizing the successful development of relations of the Azerbaijan University of Languages with many foreign universities of the world, the rector expressed confidence that today's meeting provides even greater opportunities for cooperation.

It was noted that Confucius Institute, operating at AUL, strengthens cooperation between Azerbaijan and China in the field of education, stimulates interest in the teaching and culture of the Chinese language.

The Confucius Institute serves the cause of strengthening relations between our countries, as well as teaching Chinese.

At the same time, the successful activities of the Center for Azerbaijani Language and Culture at Huzhou University of the People's Republic of China, which is engaged in the popularization of the Azerbaijani language, culture and history in the People's Republic of China, contributes to the development of Azerbaijani-Chinese relations in various areas. Representatives of the AUL, who will be seconded to the PRC in the near future, will be at Huzhou State University.

Zhou Jianjun, Deputy General Director of Phonix Publishing and Media Group, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality, and expressed satisfaction with his stay at the university.

Expressing gratitude for the support, provided in organizing the participation of Chinese publishers within the framework of the international book fair, and attention to the cultural heritage of China, the guest noted, that the X Baku Book Fair is designed to promote the development of the book business and interaction with consumers, it is an ideal platform for the exchange of international experience. This exhibition will contribute to the study and promotion of the cultural heritage of both peoples.

Speaking at the meeting, Wang Yang, President of the Publishing House of the East China Pedagogical University, said that cooperation between Azerbaijan and China, in the field of science and education, as well as in all spheres, is developing in an upward line. In this regard, close contacts with the Azerbaijan University of Languages contribute to the development of relations between our countries. Highly appreciating the ties with AUL, the guest discussed the possibilities of expanding cultural and scientific cooperation between the two countries, stressed the importance of translation projects as a continuation of Chinese-Azerbaijani cultural cooperation.
