Korean Ambassador to our country visited AUL
On May 17 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to our country Lee In-Yong visited Azerbaijan University of Languages.
Rector of AUL, academician Kamal Abdulla welcomed the ambassador saying he was glad to see him at our university. He stressed that the Korean language, culture and history have been created in the AUL. " Our students are very interested in Korean culture, history and science. Our teachers and students have every opportunity to get to know Korea better. The organization of both sporting events and cultural exhibitions is important for strengthening relations between the two countries. Such competitions should be held regularly at our university. We will be glad to see you often at our university. I am grateful to you for always paying attention to the Korean Center, our teachers, and the students are extremely satisfied with the activities of the Korean Center. As you know, AUL again took a place in the international rating, and in the QS international rating table Azerbaijan University of Languages took 300-340 place among 1500 universities in the direction «Modern Languages». This is an important event. We believe it will be a continuation of our success.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome and kind words, the Ambassador spoke about the international activities of AUL. It was noted that in recent years AUL has achieved a number of successes in the international arena and noted the fact that economic, political, scientific and cultural relations between countries are developing on an ascending line. Speaking about «Quiz about Korea», the ambassador noted that the winner of the quiz is expected to visit Korea this year. Speaking about the importance of the exchange of teachers and students, the Ambassador talked about new opportunities for future scientific cooperation. Referring to the activities of the Korean University of Foreign Languages, the Ambassador noted that the staff of this university regularly maintain contact with the Korean Centre operating at the AUL, discussing new opportunities for scientific cooperation: " Centers related to Korean language teaching operate in several universities in Azerbaijan, but I must note that Korean language teaching at the Azerbaijan University of Languages and the activities of the Korean Center are at the highest level among all these universities, and the activities of the Center are active and sustainable. I would like to point out that the Azerbaijani University of Languages ranks first on the issue of Korean language teaching. In view of all the above, the Korean Center is a good example for our centers in other universities».
It was noted that the establishment of partnerships was a positive development in terms of scientific and cultural relations between countries.
The meeting continued by discussing the future of scientific cooperation, academic exchange of teachers and students.
