Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Vladimir Orlic visited Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) on October 6.

 

Rector of AUL, academician Kamal Abdulla welcomed the guest and said he was glad to see him at the university. It was noted that friendly and partnership relations are developing between Serbia and Azerbaijan. These ties are manifested in political, economic, cultural and scientific spheres:

 

"It is a great honor for us to host the parliamentary leadership of such a friendly country as Serbia at our university. You are the second high-ranking leader to come to us from Serbia.  At one time, the

President of Serbia, Mr. Aleksandar Vucic, was also a guest of our university. On this occasion and with his participation, the opening ceremony of the Center for Serbian Language and Culture was held at our university. At the same time, at the invitation of President Vucic, we visited Belgrade State University and participated in the opening ceremony of the Center for Azerbaijani Language and Culture. This Center is functioning today, so we express our gratitude to Mr. President Vucic and you. We also express our gratitude to Mr. Ambassador, who is attentively interested in the activities of this Center".

 

Thanking the university administration and staff for the warm welcome and hospitality, the guest shared his impressions. It was noted, that the work done deserves attention and praise: "Working with young people who determine the future of the country, their formation is very responsible and honorable. Your merits in this field deserve special appreciation and respect. Special labor and contribution to the development of relations between the two countries belongs to the leadership of both countries. The Center for Serbian Language and Culture, which operates at AUL, is fundamentally important for us. I believe that the activities of these centers will contribute to the development of friendly and partnership relations between our countries.

 

At the meeting they discussed new directions of future scientific and cultural ties, as well as possibilities of exchanging teachers and students.

 

Then, the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Vladimir Orlić visited the AUL Serbian Language and Culture Center, met with the students and wrote his heartfelt wishes in the memory book of the Center.
