Annual meeting of the Board of Trustees of the educational program "Scholarship of the Mayor of Moscow" aimed at motivating students to study was held at the Russian House in Baku on June 20.

Representatives of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow, "Commonwealth" Solidarity Society of the Peoples of Azerbaijan, the Russian Community of Azerbaijan and the Moscow Compatriot House took part in the event.

The meeting was opened by Chairman of the Russian Community of Azerbaijan, member of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis Mikhail Zabelin. Chairman of the "Sodruzhestvo" Azerbaijan Solidarity Society, Tatiana Kerimova stressed the active role of the AUL Center for Russian Studies, headed by director Diana Guseinzade, in joint educational and awareness-raising projects.

At the end of the event, 21 candidates from Azerbaijan were approved for the scholarship.

Among them were five students of the International Relations and Regional Studies Department of Azerbaijan University of Languages: Farid Rajabli, Sakina Hasanova, Nijat Kazimov, Rufat Rasulov and Heydar Safarov. These students were awarded a scholarship taking into account their high results achieved during the years of study and their special activity in social activities.

AUL students were nominated by the AUL Center for Russian Studies.
