A school-student scientific conference, titled "Heydar Aliyev and directions of cooperation with Turkic states", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, was held at Azerbaijan University of Languages on May 2.

First participants of the event laid flowers at the bust of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the foyer of the university and honored his memory.

Academician Kamal Abdulla, rector of AUL, spoke about the importance of the conference in terms of students and pupils gaining new scientific knowledge.

He noted, that the conference is a good opportunity for every student to conduct new research and gain scientific experience:"Today is a historic day. The importance of today is that we are gathered here for opening of the conference, dedicated to 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Youth and students are the pledge of confidence, the great leader Heydar Aliyev put in us. We will always be faithful to this trust. I always emphasize this. It is important, that students are educated and professional. One of the main goals is to shape citizens, useful for our state and homeland. Therefore, each of you must be useful in your work, to work tirelessly for the bright future of our people and state.”

Pupils, directors of secondary schools, scientific supervisors from different regions of Azerbaijan spoke at the conference.

 At the conference congratulations were made by: Director of Bilasuvar complex of school-lyceum, named after National Hero Mubariz Ibrahimov, Agshin Bagirov; Director of secondary school, named after Novruz Aslanov of Jojug Marjanli village of Jabrayil district Zamin Haziyev; Director of secondary school No 47 of Agdam district Zulfiya Zeinalova; Director of secondary school No 56 of Fizuli district Nargiz Familzadeh; Director of Ilyas Efendiyev Elite Gymnasium Saadat Jahandarova; Director of secondary school No.61 named after Kamil Aliyev in Nizami district Zenfira Shikhaliyeva;  representatives of Alkhan Alkhanov secondary school of Shamakhi district of Sabir settlement and Technical Humanitarian Lyceum No.2.

It was the first time students of AUL acted as supervisors of schoolchildren who took part in the conference and made presentations.

It was noted that the organization of the conference would enhance the scientific-theoretical and practical capabilities of young researchers.

AUL Vice-Rector for Research, Professor Novruz Mammadov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Sevinj Zeynalova, Dean of Faculty of Education-1 Fikret Jahangirov, Dean of Faculty of International Relations and Regional Studies Ibrahim Kazymbeyli, Dean of Additional Education faculty Mammad Ismailov, Dean of Philological Faculty Shahin Khalili, scientific Supervisor of SSS Lamia Namazova congratulated the conference participants and wished them success.

The conference continued with breakout sessions.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the conference, AUL Rector, Academician Kamal Abdulla, praised the work of the conference.

Dean of the Faculty of Philology of AUL, Professor Shahin Khalili, gave information about the meetings of the sections.

Professor Ibrahim Kazimbayli, Dean of AUL Faculty of International Relations and Regional Studies, Professor Aida Yusifzade, Head of the Department of International Relations, Lamia Namazova, Scientific Supervisor of SSS, Professor Jalya Garibova, Vice-Rector for International Relations highly appreciated the conference.

Director of Bilasuvar complex of school-lyceum, named after National Hero Mubariz Ibragimov,Agshin Bagirov, expressed gratitude to the AUL management and staff for the organization and conditions created.

At the end, Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between AUL and secondary school No. 47 of Agdam district, secondary school after Novruz Aslanov of Djujug Marjanli village of Jabrayil district, secondary school No. 61 after Kamil Aliyev of Nizami district, school-lyceum after National Hero Mubariz Ibrahimov of Bilasuvar district, Ilyas Efendiyev Elite Gymnasium, Secondary School No.56 of Fizuli district, Alkhan Alkhanov Secondary School of Sabir settlement and Technical Humanitarian Lyceum No.2 of Shamakhi district.
