Vagif Mustafayev's documentary "Taking Off My Grief" was screened at AUL
The event, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Khojaly genocide, was organized by the Departments of Master's Studies, the Department of Doctoral Studies, Faculties of International Relations and Regional Studies of the Azerbaijan University of Languages.
Head of the MA Department, Associate Professor Firuza Rzayeva spoke about the purpose of the event and provided information on the film. She informed that the documentary "Taking off my grief" was shot by people's artist, director Vagif Mustafayev within the international advocacy campaign on "Justice for Khojaly".
Then a 23-minute documentary film was screened.
Vice Rector of the University, Professor Novruz Mammadov made a speech about Khojaly genocide committed by Armenian military units against civilians on the night of 26 February 1992 and shared his views on the film. He noted that the film played an important role in reviving the bitter memory of the Khojaly tragedy, as well as in making the world community aware of the Armenian atrocities.
People's artist, director Vagif Mustafayev noted that this is the third film, which he made after "Shout" and "All for the better" to bring to the world community the whole truth about the Khojaly tragedy and recognize it as genocide. The film was made with the participation of military cinematographer Sseyidaga Movsumov, who witnessed and videotaped the tragic events of 30 years ago.
The event ended with a question-and-answer session about the film by director Vagif Mustafayev.
