A workshop was held at AUL within the framework of "Open Science Azerbaijan" project
The Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) hosted a workshop on "Open Science Azerbaijan: Dissemination of Open Science Platform among Young Researchers" as part of the "Open Science Azerbaijan" project, jointly supported by the Ministry of Education and the Young Scientists, Doctoral Students and Masters Society of Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the event, Academician Kamal Abdulla, Rector of the AUL, thanked the project leaders and wished the workshop participants success in their future research activities. It was noted that such seminars are necessary to promote the research work of young scientists: "Today, new horizons are opened for Azerbaijani scientists. New challenges, new scientific researches are required. The role of youth in science, as in all other science fields is big. Youths are major driving force of Azerbaijani science. Mr President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev always pays special attention to youth and makes necessary steps to assess and encourage talented youth".
Elnur Nasibov, Advisor to the Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, said the project aims to provide young researchers with knowledge and information about 'Open Science', 'Open Access', 'Open Research Date', 'Open Innovation', 'Open Research Computation', 'ResearchGate' and 'Scientific Social Network'. At the same time to inform about the possibility of access to "Open Access" journals and methodology of preparing scientific articles for publication in ORCID indexed journals to achieve wide dissemination of "Open Science" among young scientists.
Ilgar Orujov, Chairman of the Society of Young Scientists, Doctoral and Master Students of Azerbaijan and member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Education, spoke about the conditions created for young people in the country. He said the project also serves to further diversify opportunities in science for young scientists and develop their international relations. Dr Sevinj Adilova, an expert of the Azerbaijan Society of Young Scientists, Doctors and Masters, delivered a presentation on "Open research materials. Indices and databases". She spoke about 'AcademyGate' which was created to bring together scientific conferences in Azerbaijan and the Caucasus.
Certificates were awarded to the doctoral and master's students, participants of the workshop.
